Guide for Hotels Using the New Guest Ban ID Scanning Driver with IHG HotelKey
Initiating a Scan in HotelKey
To begin the scanning process, open HotelKey and locate the guest reservation.
Prepare the ID for Scanning
- Place the ID on the scanner.
- Either side of the ID can be scanned first.
- Wait for the scanner to complete the first scan.
- Remove the ID, flip it over, and place the other side on the scanner.
- Wait for the second scan to complete.
Select the Reservation Type
After the ID has been scanned, the Guest Ban IDFill popup will appear.
Choose the correct option based on the guest’s reservation:
- For a walk in guest, click the Walk In button.
- For a guest with an existing arrival reservation, click the Arrival button.
The guest’s ID information will then be transferred into the appropriate HotelKey screen.
Verify the Guest Information
Review the guest information after it has been entered.
IDFill will automatically format and update the guest profile using the information captured from the ID.
Helpful Tip
IDFill remembers the last location of the popup window.
Move the popup to your preferred area of the screen, and it will open in the same location the next time it appears.
To close the IDFill popup, click the X icon in the corner of the window.
