Watch the video above for a complete demonstration of how to position and scan ID cards and passports using the Guest Ban passport scanner.
Scanning an ID Card
- Place the ID card in the top left corner of the scanner.
- Make sure the card is pushed fully into position and remains flat.
- The scanner sensor will detect the card and automatically begin scanning.
- Wait until you hear a beep. The beep confirms that the scan is complete.
- Remove the card, flip it over, and place the other side in the same top left position.
- Wait for the second beep before removing the card.
Helpful Tip
Scan the barcode side of the ID card first. This can help speed up the scanning process and allows the guest information to be captured more quickly.
Scanning a Passport
Only the passport page containing the guest’s photo and personal information needs to be scanned.
- Open the passport to the information page.
- Place the page flat on the scanner.
- Slide the passport page completely into the top left corner.
- Keep the passport still while the scanner processes the page.
- Wait until you hear a beep confirming that the scan is complete.
Important Reminders
