Ban Management Updates: What’s New and How It Improves Your Workflow

We’ve made several important improvements to the Ban Management section to make it faster, clearer, and more reliable for your team. These updates focus on reducing approval errors, simplifying incident reporting, and making it easier to manage Do Not Rent (DNR) guests at scale.

Below is an overview of what’s changed. You can watch the full video tutorial for a step-by-step walkthrough.

1. Automatic Approval When Adding a Ban

One of the most important improvements is on the Incident Reporting screen when marking a guest as Do Not Rent.

If you have the appropriate permissions, the approval status will now automatically be set to Approved.

Why This Matters

Previously, many bans were submitted but never formally approved. This created confusion and sometimes left properties unprotected. With automatic approval (based on permissions), we ensure that valid bans are finalized correctly from the start.

This helps:

  • Reduce incomplete bans
  • Improve data accuracy
  • Protect your property more effectively

2. Major Offense Requirement Removed

We’ve removed the requirement to select a “Major Offense” when submitting a ban.

We understand that not every situation includes a police case number or formal report. There are times when you need to mark a guest as Do Not Rent without official documentation.

You can now submit a ban without being forced to select that field.

Best Practice: Add Detailed Notes

Even though the requirement has been removed, we strongly recommend entering as much detail as possible in the notes section.

Detailed notes are extremely helpful if:

  • A police case is involved
  • There is property damage
  • You need documentation for a chargeback dispute
  • Staff needs context in the future

Clear documentation today can save significant time and confusion later.

3. Simplified Save Process

We’ve also removed the extra checkbox that was previously required before saving a report.

Now you can simply complete the incident details and click save — no additional confirmation step needed.

This makes reporting faster and reduces unnecessary clicks during busy check-in or check-out periods.

4. New Ban Status Column in the Bans Tab

In the Bans tab, you’ll now see a new Ban Status column.

This allows you to instantly see:

  • Which bans are approved
  • Which bans are not approved

You no longer need to open individual incident reports just to check approval status.

This update improves visibility and makes ongoing management much easier.

5. Notes Preview Without Opening the Report

We’ve added a Notes column to the Bans tab.

You can now hover over the notes text to preview the full details of the incident.

This means:

  • Faster review of incidents
  • No need to open each record
  • Better operational efficiency

Your team can quickly understand what happened without navigating away from the main screen.

6. Bulk Approvals and Status Management

Managing multiple bans is now significantly easier.

You can use the Ban Status checkbox to:

  • Select multiple guests
  • Mark them approved in one action
  • Unapprove them if necessary

This is especially helpful if you previously had pending bans that need to be finalized all at once.

7. View More Guests Per Page

If you have a large number of Do Not Rent guests, you can now use the dropdown menu to increase the number of records displayed per page.

This makes it easier to:

  • Review all DNR guests
  • Approve multiple records
  • Manage your list efficiently

No more switching between multiple pages just to complete approvals.

  • Simplified save process
