Choice Advantage ID Scanning Guide

Start by navigating to the Guest Ban Dashboard. From there, you can initiate the scanning process by selecting ‘Auto Scan Detection’. Depending on your hotel’s specific policies and requirements choose either double-sided or single-sided scanning.

This guide will demonstrate the double-sided scanning process. Upon accessing the Automatic Scan Detection screen, you’ll see a list of guests whose IDs have been recently scanned. In this mode, the scanner is programmed to automatically initiate scanning when an ID card is placed on it. Start by scanning the front side of the ID, followed by the back side.

Alternatively, you may opt for the single-sided scanning mode, where only the back side of the ID (with the barcode) is scanned. This mode is suitable when there’s no need for the picture on the front side of the ID. In this mode, the scanner is programmed to automatically initiate scanning when an ID card is placed on it. Start by scanning the ID by placing back side (barcode) facing the scanner.

To begin the scanning process, first, open Choice Advantage while keeping the Guest Ban tab active in your browser. When checking in a guest, go to the Guest Info section.

  1. Prepare the ID for Scanning:
    • Place the ID face down with the front side on the scanner.
    • Then, flip the ID over and place the barcode side down.
  2. Trigger the ID Fill Process:
    • A popup window will appear showing you the recent ID Scan.
      1. Click on Fill Guest ID after the ID images appear on screen to fill and update the guest information.

Note: IDfill has a handy feature where it remembers its last position. If you have a preferred area on your screen for the popup, simply move it there and IDfill will open in that same location the next time. To dismiss the IDfill popup, click the ‘X’ icon located at the corner of the popup window.

Additionally, IDfill will automatically correct and update the guest’s profile accordingly.
