How to Scan an ID in My Guest Ban: Double-Sided and Single-Sided Scanning

In My Guest Ban, scanning guest IDs can be done in two modes: Double-Sided and Single-Sided. This guide will take you through both processes to ensure accurate ID scanning and seamless transfer of guest information to your Property Management System (PMS) using IDfill.

Before You Begin:

  • Correct Placement of ID: Always ensure that the ID is placed all the way to the back and aligned with the left side of the scanner for accurate scanning.
  • Launch IDfill: Ensure that the IDfill application is running. This application is essential for transferring the guest’s ID information into your PMS.

Step-by-Step Guide: Double-Sided ID Scanning

  1. Start by Accessing Auto Scan Detection:
    • Log into myguestban.com and navigate to the Guest Ban Dashboard.
    • From the dashboard, select “Auto Scan Detection” to begin the scanning process.
  2. Choose Double-Sided Scanning:
    • Once in the Auto Scan Detection screen, select “Start Double-Sided Scanning.”
  3. Position the ID on the Scanner:
    • Place the guest’s ID face down (front side with the photo) on the scanner.
    • Ensure the ID is placed all the way to the back and aligned to the left side of the scanner.
  4. Scan the Front Side:
    • The scanner will automatically detect the ID and begin scanning the front side.
    • After the front side is scanned, flip the ID over to scan the back.
  5. Scan the Back Side:
    • Place the back of the ID (barcode side) face down on the scanner.
    • The system will automatically capture the back side of the ID.
  6. Transfer Guest Information to PMS:
    • After both sides of the ID are scanned, an IDfill popup will appear.
    • Click on the “Guest Details” button in the IDfill popup to automatically transfer the guest’s information to their profile in your PMS.

Step-by-Step Guide: Single-Sided ID Scanning

  1. Access Auto Scan Detection:
    • Log into myguestban.com and navigate to the Guest Ban Dashboard.
    • Select “Auto Scan Detection” from the dashboard to start the scanning process.
  2. Choose Single-Sided Scanning:
    • In the Auto Scan Detection screen, select “Start Single-Sided Scanning.”
  3. Position the ID on the Scanner:
    • For single-sided scanning, place the back side of the ID (barcode side) face down on the scanner.
    • Ensure the ID is aligned to the back and left side of the scanner.
  4. Scan the Back Side:
    • The scanner will automatically detect and scan the barcode on the back of the ID.
  5. Transfer Guest Information to PMS:
    • As with double-sided scanning, an IDfill popup will appear.
    • Click the “Guest Details” button to transfer the guest’s details to your PMS.
